Vision Board

A vision board is a collection of images and words that inspire and motivate you to reach your goals. Looking towards the Periodic Update of Spokane's Comprehensive Plan, we are asking you what vision you have for our community's future. 

Post pictures or individual words that depict where you want to see Spokane in 20 years. The themes below, which have been identified as potential goals for the Periodic Update, are intended to help inspire your visioning. 

Resilient

• Wise and Sustainable Investments: Promote climate, fiscal, infrastructure, social, and economic resilience. 
• Prosperous: Support economic development and small businesses for a prosperous community. 
• Environmental Conservation: Conserve and enhance Spokane's natural environment as the community grows. 

Connected 

• Accessible: Facilitate walking, rolling, and biking to destinations via a well-connected network. Ensure transit access and a safe environment for public use. Improve intersections and crossings with traffic safety and freight mobility in mind. 
• Social: Encourage places for gathering and enjoyment. 

Livable

• Affordable: Provide opportunities for housing and utilities that are affordable, especially for lower-income communities. 
• Safe: Create safe environments such as with crime prevention through design choices. Provide healthy environments through reduced air pollution and noise exposure. Ensure emergency access and reduced threat of wildfire. 
• Culture and Recreation: Enhance access to parks and recreational and cultural amenities. 
• Equity and Inclusion: Advance equity and inclusion and address the needs of overburdened communities in the Comprehensive Plan and implementing plans and codes.
