Community Visioning Survey

The City of Spokane is currently updating its Comprehensive Plan as required by the state's Growth Management Act. Due in June 2026, the periodic update will identify policies and future regulations to guide the next 20 years of our city. This update provides us with the opportunity to identify the community's vision for Spokane now and into 2046.

We hope you were able to join us at one of the Community Vision Workshops in March. If not, or if you have more feedback to give us, this is another opportunity to share your vision as part of the PlanSpokane 2046 vision for Spokane's future.

A Shared Vision

The City of Spokane is considering consolidating the vision statements found throughout the Chapters of the Comprehensive Plan into one vision and set of values that guides the overall document. The intent is to provide a Comprehensive Plan that represents the community's shared vision.

Word cloud of the common vision statement themes, including community, neighborhoods, downtown, livable, healthy, diverse, cultural, safety, and education.

When looking at the existing visions currently found in the Comprehensive Plan, similar concepts are found, as depicted in the word cloud graphic above.
